Bushfire Sun Spot

(Dimensions: the whole piece is a circle with a one meter circumference)
This painting began as a little sketch of a fire ravaging a forest, inspired by images on the evening television news in 2019. It has been transformed into a much more significant statement by Mario Tripolini who re-purposed a large circular and very yellow table in laminate. He cut out pieces to make the table look like a sun and we then bought LED light strips from Bunnings so that the piece can be illuminated from behind. The piece is very much a collaboration between the artist and a kitchen cabinet maker.
